Last weekend a few friends and I went out to celebrate my friends birthday. Seeing as I don't go out too often I decided to put together a little Style It post so you can see what I chose to wear and how I did both my hair and makeup. Hope you enjoy!

Hair & Makeup
For my makeup I decided to go with a bold lip while keeping the rest of the look very clean and simple. As for the hair I kept it down and curled.

Outfit & Accessories 
Since it's been getting chilly where I live I decided I would need a jacket throughout the night and based my outfit around my leather moto jacket. Since the jacket was my staple piece I kept the rest of the outfit pretty simple by sticking to the black theme while adding silver jewelry to compliment the silver detailing on the jacket.

To do this hairstyle simply pull all of your hair to one side. From there divide the hair into two and take small pieces from either side and add to the other. Repeat this step all the way down your hair. Make sure you keep your hair to the one side otherwise it won't sit right. Once you reach the end of your hair secure it with a small elastic. Lightly tug pieces of the braid to make it look more full and feel free to pull small pieces out at the front to give it a slightly messier look.

2. Double Ponytails

This one it super easy to do and helps to keep your hair under control. Start this hair style with the hat on so that the hair elastics aren't too tight. Once the hat is on divide your hair in half and bring in front of your shoulders. From here you simply put an elastic band around the hair on either side. To keep the look less put together pull the elastics to below your jaw line. This look is perfect for smaller brimmed hats because it prevents your hair from looking like its overpowering the hat (I struggle with this because of how much hair I have).

3. Double Braid

For this look you're going to start with the hat on and parting the hair to either side and pulling to the front of your shoulders. From here you do a normal braid down to the ends of your hair. Lastly secure the braids with small elastics. With this hairstyle I like to keep the braids clean looking while making sure that no loose ends fall out in the front.

For the longest time putting my hair up into any form of bun was the hardest thing. Based on how much hair I had and how fine it was it just never held. That was until I discovered Goody Spin Pins. These pins come in two different sizes and are used much like a bobby pin would be. Below I show you a few different hairstyles using the spin pins.

1. Half Up, Half Down

Step 1: Backcomb your hair gently to create volume in the crown area of your head Step 2: Section your hair above the ear on either side and join in the back Step 3: Twist the hair together until it creates a small bun flat against your head Step 4: Twist 2-3 of the small spin pins into your bun on either side

 2. Half Up Top Knot 

Step 1: Section your hair right up from the peak of your eyebrows Step 2: Comb the section back to hide the part in your hair Step 3: Backcomb the top section to create volume so the hair is not flat against your head Step 4: Twist the hair until it creates a bun on the top of your head and secure with the small spin pins

3. Fancy Low Bun    

Step 1: Backcomb your hair in the crown area to create volume Step 2: Pull all of the hair back towards the nape of your neck Step 3: Twist the hair into a bun flat against your head 4. Twist a large pin into either side of your bun until it feels secure against your head. Feel free to pull some pieces out at the front to help from your face (this also helps to create a messier look).

4. Classic Top Knot

Step 1: Comb all of your hair to the top of your head making sure that there are no loose pieces Step 2: Tightly twist the hair into a bun on the top of your head Step 3: Make sure that all stray pieces are tucked in Step 4: Twist a large pin into either side of your bun making sure it is secure

(seeing as I flew home for the holidays I did not pack the giant bottle and instead used a travel container to put some product in, but this is the original bottle) This is another product that I have indulged in for many years. I use this on towel dried hair to help tame my frizz and to provide a healthy shine to my hair. I also apply it to dry, styled hair if I am feeling that my hair is still looking a little dull.
